Laser scanning and as-built survey,

Hradec Králové

We save time for architects and investors and help eliminate errors in renovation projects.

We carried out 3D laser scanning of a family house in Hradec Králové to prepare accurate documentation for a planned renovation. During a single site visit, we surveyed both the interiors and the façades and produced drawings for the architects based on the captured data.

At the beginning of autumn, we received an inquiry from a private client for an as-built survey of a family house in Hradec Králové for a renovation design and subsequent refurbishment. The redevelopment project was to be prepared by a local architectural studio, which required up-to-date and accurate as-built survey data-specifically floor plans of all levels, faсade elevations from two sides, and both a longitudinal and a transverse section.

After the price quotation was approved, we quickly agreed on a site visit date and started the work on-site the following week. The house was an older two-storey building with a basement and an attic space with a roof structure. The floor area of each level was relatively small — approximately 60 m². The main entrance was on the street side, and the rear faсade faced the garden.

The 3D survey was performed using a modern, high-precision FARO Premium terrestrial laser scanner and took approximately three hours. The total number of scan positions, including the faсades, exceeded 80. All scans were registered in specialized software into a unified coordinate system with minimal deviation.

The resulting point cloud was cleaned of noise, reflections, unwanted points, and “see-through” points through windows, and then prepared for further processing. The floor plans, sections, and faсade elevations were produced in AutoCAD directly from the point cloud. The complete workflow—from scanning to final drawings—took five working days.

As a bonus, both the client and the architect received an online 3D tour with 360° panoramas, which makes remote collaboration and work with the data much easier.

The client and the architects were satisfied with the result, and we are glad we can deliver 3D building surveys quickly, with high quality, and within the agreed timeframe!
