Building Survey by Laser Scanning, Ústí nad Labem
Laser scanning technology makes it possible to carry out even complex building and interior surveys quickly.
In one of our recent projects, we helped deliver a survey of an industrial facility near the railway station in the city of Ústí nad Labem. The rectangular building, measuring 90 × 13 m in plan and with a total interior area of approximately 3,000 m², was scanned both outside and inside. The façade scanning was carried out in color, while the interior scanning was captured in reflected-signal intensity (black-and-white mode).
The survey work was made more challenging by a large number of storage racks across most levels and stored goods throughout the facility. Nevertheless, despite these difficulties and the large floor area, we were able to complete the on-site survey within one working day and capture the spaces with high accuracy.
Point cloud processing—including noise and unwanted object removal, elimination of reflections, registration into a unified coordinate system, and data export—took 2 working days. The result was a downsampled point cloud optimized for efficient work in Revit. It was then used as a basis for creating a 3D model and for preparing the reconstruction design and as-built documentation of the building.
We help reduce the time required for surveying buildings and interiors by using laser scanning as an effective tool. By ordering a building survey by laser scanning from us, you can save time, rely on measurement accuracy, and focus on delivering more projects.
